Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has signed a contract with Embraer for the modernization of 53 AMX fighter jets, for USD 400 millions.
The Air Force Central Command wants to keep the AMX operational until 2020. The studies for the MLU had started in 2000, and an agreement with Embraer was reached in 2003. But the contract was effectively signed only two weeks ago, says Brig. Segio Bambini, from FAB´s Department of R&D.
