RE: An Aircraft to be proud of! Dutchy, you must take a look at this.
Very nice and kept in mint condition as well, good to see the old props still going, they trully let you know when you are flying.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-11-02 AT 10:48Â PM (GMT)]It’s attached to the aircraft (if it was on the ground it would be in the middle of a taxiway right by a holding point, doh!) and Mongu’s right, it’s a tailstand to prevent it tipping back on its tail. They’re quite common on a lot of turboprops but I hadn’t seen a piston with one before.

is that pole not on the ground rather than the plane?

I’d suppose the pole is there to prevent the tail hitting the tarmac if the CG shifts during cargo loading.
Or it could be a boutique barbers shop?

A gold star for anyone who can say what the red and white striped pole is for at the back.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-11-02 AT 08:42Â PM (GMT)]I have been on this aircraft, in 1999 at Biggin Hill Air Show, its lovely inside. So clean and tidy, small, but still a great aircraft!
