An airline you wouldn't fly again?

Hi,

I don’t think something like this has been posted before, so let’s give it a go.

What airline have you flown that you would not consider flying again, and why?

For me, Ryanair. If you read my stupidly long review following the 45 minute flight to Dublin, you’ll see I was not impressed. Even though I paid less than £30 return, the standards were appauling.

I also don’t think I’d ever fly long haul with a charter airline. Compared to scheduled carriers, what they offer is not as good as it could be.

The SSV 320 was nice!! By the way, I didn’t like PIDS or CSVS but liked the rest!!

I never flew on an AIH 757, had a MD-80 twice, A320 3 times and a 767 once. The 767 was about the best of the lot. The 320 (all 3 were different) were falling apart inside, panels coming away slightly etc, and the things mentioned above.

For me, Ryanair and (if they were still about) Airtours.

Ryanair (though it was an Islandsflug aircraft) was cramped, stufft and the aircraft overall was just very dated. You had about 1 safety card per row of 6!! The crew looked, and were unhappy and just not interested about the passengers.

Airtours – I had flown with them up to at least 6 times at each time there was something wrong. Ovens not working – so no inflight meals. Seat broken, tables broken, ripped carpet (so that you would trip over it), massive delays at some stages. Going back alongway i know, but the MD-80s were the worst!

Northwest……Miserable cabin crew, everything seemed to be an irritation to them. Even asking for a glass of water after “lights out” ensured my “pain in the ass” status in their eyes…Never again.

Virgin Express….A real air of “could’nt care less” eminated from the cabin crew, with the No1 chewing gum as we boarded. Put me off LoCos for life.

Alitalia
mainly due to the fact you could effectively say the service is bad or as if they dont have one at all

I would never fly Air New Zealand again – dreadful cabin crews who treat passengers like second class sh*t, dreadful food, incompetent reservations staff.

I would never fly Ryanair, I don’t like the sound of them.

I can never fly with my beloved Sabena again for obvious reasons (though SNBA are a real delight!)

I don’t know if I will fly VLM again because I have now discovered SNBA! But VLM are an excellent carrier.

It would definately have to be Air France. Flight from Edinburgh to Paris was good but once in Paris and aboard the flight to Johannesburg and back. Total dis organisation. Rude staff and food poor. No matter whatthe price difference is I wont fly with them ever again.

Have never had a really bad flight, but I would’nt be incredibly keen on flying either MyTravel or Ryanair again.
MyTravel- Very cramped seating, bad punctuality record (Including a 3 hour delay for me), and the usual rubbish airline food.
Ryanair- Dirty a/c, not very friendly staff, very expensive products on board.
On the plus side of Ryanair of course is the very cheap fares, and because of this I think if I was going to Dublin again I would put up with them.

Court Airlines……………well there aint no way anyone will be flying them again!!

back to the present, Ryanair were the worse airline I flew with, just shere shoddyness, a case of “pack em in, get em there, get rid of em”

No complaints about BA tho’

Well, hard to say. Only the ones I felt particularly scared like Cubana on Antonov26 with no windows in the middle of a storm at night. Apalling indeed.

BA- Cramped, poor food, poor service
BACX- Cramped, bad food, poor service
CY- Old planes, poor service, bad punctuality, shocking food
FCA- Very cramped, appauling food, shocking service, very old planes
Air OPS- Even worse than AMM/FCA in all departments.

I’ve had some pretty bad experiences with a few airlines. As much as I fly, that is to be expected once in a while. Almost every single time I’ve flown with America’s Worst, errrrrr, America West, I’ve had something go wrong. But if I turn around and say that I’ll never fly them again, I’d be lying. In the right situation, I just may wind up flying them again, although I prefer not to.

It always makes me laugh when people turn around and say ‘i’ll never fly this airline again’ esp with charters, as you know on their next visit to Lunn Poly if a holidays cheaper then the airline doesn’t usually come into it! With scheduled airlines then passengers have a point as you have a choice but on a charter package! So green320 if your parents told you they had booked a trip to Allicante and you were flying with FCA would you refuse to go????

I don’t think there is an airline that I wouldn’t fly again… Give or take a bad meal and an hours delay i’ve always been quite lucky on the 40 plus flights i’ve taken.

Caledonian Airways (now TCX) – fine.
Ambassador Airways (gone) – fine.
Air 2000 (now FCA) – fine.
KLMcityhopperuk – fine.
Northwest Airlines – fine.
JMC Airlines (now TCX) – fine.
Britannia Airways – fine.
Ryanair – fine.

I have a really strange feeling that my first easyJet flight next month won’t be too hot though, dont ask me why – a hunch i suppose

cheers,

LGKR
