But anyway, i saw the opertunity to try a reflection shot, so here it is…(Also, the astraues in the background has apparently been writen off, not sure why, but boeing engineers are due to inspect it in the next few days)
First Choice 757
ZS-AOL – This was parked in a bizzare place, although it was great, very close to the fence. This area has space for 4 or 5 biz jets, so hopefully this will be our new bizjet apron!

As the day went on, it brightened up a little bit, but the cloud cover was still bad.
Flybe E195 – My first one at LGW
Air Comet A320 – ex Air Moldova
Comments welcome…enjoy

Did you have any trouble with the BAA security van that passes by that spot(inside the fence on the windy road),i was at that very spot in the summer and was givin stern instruction to stay on the footpath behind the ditch at the fence,so this restricted me to only arrivig photos and with the thought that the security chap was a tosser!

Excellent shots, Josh. I don’t think I could have stood in that awful weather! 😮
Thanks Michael. Haha, neither could i. When it started to rain, heavily, i went into my hut i made. Yes, if any one would like to use it, i accept checks for £1,000,000 an hour. The hut is located in the hedges, over a busy road. its rather warm. And quite small!!!haha
Thanks again for comments

Thanks for your comments guys!
Thanks for the info about G-STRH also Sam, my friends dad who works at the CAA says that there is roughly £2mil of damage! ouch!!!
Tim, if you look at this link to my website it should help you… http://www.lgw.web-wings.co.uk/spotters.html . The biz pics and FCA and FR where taken just down from spot 1. The building that is next to the end of line one is now demolished and is a flat concrete area, this is hopefully the new bizjet apron! The remainder of the shots were taken from spot 1.
Best Regards
Josh

Nice shots!
The Astraeus hasn’t been written off, yet anyway. It’s had an accident with a tow truck, or something ground related and has done severe damage to the fuselage. The part which needs repairing apparently needs re-skinning and apparently needs the Avionics, Galley and Flight Deck and a few more bits removed so they can repair it 😮 So it’s not written off, not yet anyway, but it wouldn’t suprise me if it happens.

Great shots!
Today has been rather a rubbish day at Gatwick with quite a few cancellations, all NON weather related! BA have lots of flights down due to crew shortages, and both US Airways’ A330 to CLT and Northwest’s A330 to MSP went tech and got cancelled as well!
