I quick trip to my local Stansted today (25/9) for a rare visit from an IL-62. Despite a bright start to the day……

…the cloud rolled in and the light had gone before the main act turned up hence the poor image quality 😡

Gatwick on the 18/09

USAF 99-0003 C32A (a boeing 757 to you and me) was an unexpected visitor to Stansted on the 17/09

Luton on the 23/08

And a couple from Heathrow during July

Happy hunting, Tony

Some very interesting aircraft in there, especially the beautiful IL-62 and the Tri-Star. Very nice indeed!

Great shots, love to se the old 62’s, sorare these days to get a glimpse. Who was on the American Airforce 2? (just a guess at the callsign lol)
If ‘Airforce 2’ was in fact the callsign, then it ought to have been carrying the vice president of the USA. That said, Condoleeza Rice has been known to make extensive use of it too…

No idea who was on Airforce 2 but the IL62 was apparently carrying a Russian delegation attending a UK conference about plastic trays

Those IL-62s were certainly elegant airliners. Great shots.

Ah good to see the Euro Atlantic Tristar back in action!
Great set of images! AN-12 does it for me!
