The Bitburg brewery has used the slogan ‘Bitte ein Bit!’ for years now. Since the brewery is in the town of Bitburg (surprising, aye?), all license plates start with BIT …

All cars owned by the brewery are BIT – TE…

Not aviation related, but porbably relevant.

The latest design of car registrations in the UK were designed to stop people fashioning their names or other words out of their cars number plate. It has failed. I recently parked next to
WA 51 TME. Innocent enough, except it was spaced to read

WAS IT ME.

Just thought I’d share that with you. (No, I am not a car spotter!!)

Back to aviation, I seem to remember the Italians being quite good with this sort of thing. Back at Farnborough years ago there was an aggressive looking MB339 with the registration I-BITE !!

There used to be a british Pitts Special registered G-WHIZ.

And finally……

The best advertising going, the America Nike corp. (the footwear giant) uses the US registration system to its advantage with its Gulfstream bizjet being registered N 1 KE.
