How many flight engineers/navigators are required for this a/c? There seems to be a good number of workstations in the cockpit…
22 crew members fly with the plane, among them 9 are cockpit flight crews. 😮

What a plane.
Everytime I see a picture of it I’m simply awe-struck.
I’d love to have the chance to see it in real life.
So far the biggest plane I’ve ever seen (and had the chance to fly on) is the C-5.
There are only two planes that are bigger so I guess that’s pretty good.
I have seen the birdy at Le Bourget 2 years ago! That’s a hell of a plane.
Nice pics anyway and thanks for sharing.

Must have been the UK ‘Daily Mail’ or possibly the ‘Daily Express’ but I think it got around a bit!

There was that classic press photo of it coming to land over the ‘Swan’ pub with the patrons watching, pint in hand!

Can you remember which newspaper it was?? Been looking for a copy for ages…

Remember the year it came to Farnborough? When they went to move it from static display so the airshow could start they used a BA tug. It was powerful enough but the reinforced tow bar wasn’t so they had to start up its engines and taxi it to the far side. There was that classic press photo of it coming to land over the ‘Swan’ pub with the patrons watching, pint in hand!

Outstanding pictures! Its’ funny to see the AN225 navigates by using a hand-held GPS unit. 🙂

Brilliant pics!
Does the AN 225 also use noise reduction on its engines?
