And now for some completely different airlines

Just a few pics of five of the less common carriers.
Taken at JFK.

RE: And now for some completel

Saab,

You are absolutely correct. On that journey, my itinerary was MSP, JFK, Schipol, SVO. And after the fact, I just plain did not remember exactly where the first roll began. The RAM 747 was also taken there. Notice the green tail with the shamrock in the distant backgrond; then notice that same tail again, now at a distant gate behind the blurred Uzbek airliner. Unfortunately the Uzbek was quite some distance away, and what you see is the result of “zoom – crop – sharpen, fiddle – and keep fiddling” photo editing technique. But better than the traditional poke in the eye with a pointy stick or a flight on a Russian domestic carrier. 🙂

RE: And now for some completel

Saab and T5, both of you are correct, there’s no way that pic was taken at JFK. In fact, right behind that CSA 737, is a Crossair MD80. Both of those were taken at Amsterdam, as 2 KLM birds are evident in the background. Furthermore, the pic right above that of the Mandarin MD11, was also taken at Schipol. There’s no way 2 KLM birds would be on the ramp at the same time at JFK, as they only serve JFK from AMS. Would they have 2 AMS flights on the ground at the same time at another airport? I think not. Nice pics, nevertheless.

Saab,

I was going to say that exact same thing! Unless it’s been leased to some American airline?? But then it would have a temporary livery.

RE: And now for some completel

Were they all taken at JFK?Just that I doubt a CSA 737 could get all the way across the Atlantic!Looks like Amsterdam to me.
Anyway great pictures!

Ahhhh. Nice to see the L1011 at the top. Pity it has nearly dissapeared. My favourite plane by far!
