And the Banned didn't play on?

I am hearing some disturbing rumours that a few of the members of this forum including at least 2 respected and published authorities of the aviation scene have been banned from this forum?

I wonder if anyone can comment on this or confirm the details ?

In light of pending news, lets take a little sabbatical. Things are getting silly and I cannot so how further contributions are helping. I’ve opted to lock this thread temporarily until Richard can get back to us all with an update. Thanks a great deal for being so understanding and nice to the moderating team. It’s been lovely to come back and see this happen.

Please don’t force us into removing pointless posts that are failing to contribute to the thread subject, or consider locking it entirely if it spirals out of control. You’ve all been very good to us mods and that’s heartening 🙂

We are trying to get this resolved as quickly as possible. I appreciate this has dragged on but we are still waiting for answers so if you can bear with us a bit longer.

Cheers

Don’t Panic

Rob that’s no budgie that’s the cat formerly known as Merlin.

Whilst Merlin was on a southerly heading a Jerry lined up on his tail, bearing down on him at great speed. There was an almighty furr-ball, a sudden impact and then silence.

Tangmere12 your advice please

During a routine dig this crated Merlin was found. The dataplate quite clearly says Merlin. The valve seen nearby is from the Merlin of a well known MkII Spitfire. If I combine the two will you write me out a certificate of authenticity?

The box contains a Merlin that crashed near our house.

Now where’s that picture Snapper posted. I think he’s having us on. I’m pretty sure Megabloks were used prior to October 1940. Where’s Tangmere12 when he’s needed.

Hmm? The Supermarine documents from that period that I have in my possession suggest that these were actually Bakelite Stickle Bricks.

I think that Snapper may be trying to scam us with his reproduction Lego equivalents, which as we all know, were actually fitted to Tornados.

@RAF Rochford

Don’t have any Canadian Pine to hand but have a stack of scaffold boards. I am sure that Kev in his new capacity as resident expert can verify said boards as being genuine Canadian Pine.

Kev’s shoes are mighty big things to step in to but I am sure he’d be delighted to welcome you in the role of the forum’s “Driveling Pacamac”

Guys it was a long thread nor do we not know who complained about what part of the thread and indeed it may not have been anyone to do with the society mentioned, people seem to be jumping the Gun here and blaming everyone under the Sun including Key who as far as I can see acted quickly to stem the problem and prevent further harm happening, give them a break and time to look at things..

I see my previous prescription appears to have worn off, so i am upping the dosage to the max strength version…….. Everyone needs to step back and take a

It’s terrible that two leading authorities on Spitfires are unavailable to examine and verify the provenance of artefacts from that iconic aircraft at present.

Right, anyone want to buy some original Battle of Britain Spitfire gun-widgets? They are stamped with what looks like 1e60 which points to being from a Mark I sub-variant that was only in service between June and October 1940. There’s one for each side, hence the colour coding and they’re made from an oil-based derivative which has remained in excellent shape so they could be fitted to an airworthy aircraft.

FIVE GRAND AND THEY’RE YOURS, I have more than one pair available and I’ll donate a coffee outside the Old Bailey for each of the three for every pair sold.

Unfortunately for them I think that horse has already bolted.

I didn’t think this was about Mustangs?

BTW why do I keep thinking of ‘The word of the year?’ over this

Merlin70;

Surely though, if Kev get’s promoted to a forum expert in either the role of Tangmere12 or Mark1940, then Kev’s position will therefore become vacant?

Could I offer my services as I am more than happy to fill the role, maybe as the forum’s “Driveling Pacamac”? Where can I send my application form?

Good luck with your prospective promotions and please do let us know when the excavation of said chair will take place. Incidentally, don’t forget to crate up the chair in Canadian pine before you bury it.

Regards;
Steve
