And your wedding vehicle was what???

Well, at Henlow this afternoon, one couple arrived at their reception by Thruxton Jackaroo, complete with ribbons trailing from the struts! I hope their wedding bed isn’t as snug as the back seats in the ‘Roo!

[QUOTE=Wyvernfan;]Just for clarity if you mean the Biggin Hill Invader it was 1980.

Thanks for putting me right. It was a few years ago. I hadn’t live in Eaton Bray long then. I walked across the field to the air strip and helpped George Cull with the Jackaroo. then took him back to the house so he could phone his wife. Next day he rang me up and asked if i would like to fly to Old Warden. I later got to know him when i go married and moved to Slapton. He lived a few dooors away.

I flew with George Cull in G-AOIR from Eaton Bray to Old Warden in 1981, the same day that the B-26 Invader crashed.

Hi Fleet. Yes, I know the Canadian one. Is it still in the same red and silver scheme that G-AOIR had?

Yes , still in the same scheme except for the Canadian registration.
We are all off to a Fly In tomorrow.
At this point it looks like my Fleet 16r , a Fleet 16b, Jackaroo , Tigermoth and an Aeronca Champ are going from our group 🙂

George Cull was one of the original members of The Stevenage Flying Club, while I was a latecomer, flying the Roo from 1984 to 1986. George liked to take it away to Eaton Bray for a week or so most years. I think it was to save on his petrol bills driving to and from Old Warden

I’ve put that dark day behind me, I can’t actually remember what vehicle was used.

Very nice indeed.
We operate an Jackaroo at our group also.
I cant say my wedding vehicle was an airplane but I can say that the centre piece at my head table was an actual airworthy Lancaster.
We had to set up the table under the nose.
Made for some very impressive wedding photos 🙂
