Anglo-American Jet design?

Just a quick question.

About a year ago on Channel 4, they showed a documentary about an American and Bristish projest to build a new fighter jet.
It was made to incorporate the vertical landing of the Harrier and some aspects of one of the U.S fighters.

For the life of me I can’t remember which aircraft was made in the end and what it’s name is ?

The U.S were supposed to be buying some and so were we, but I don’t really know if it really worked in the end. Any information would be helpful.

It was supposed to be not too expensive as well, because the American F22 was very pricey, and of course the Eurofighter was as well. Any info would be great.
