‘Evening all!
I had another wander up to LBA this afternoon with Jordan, a friend I’m kind of showing the ropes in aviation and non-aviation photography (although if he has any sense at all he will totally ignore everything I say!) The traffic really wasn’t all that exciting and the weather was a bit rubbish but we still had fun! Jordan used my 350D + 70-200L, so all these were taken using the 30D and 50-500.

A little bizjet-type thingy, especially for DJ! 😀

Thanks to Jordan for a day of silly random stupidity and shooting!
Thanks for looking. 🙂

In the Ryanair shot with the Lads sitting on the fence…are there any other barriers between that fence and the taxiway???

Yes because let’s face it, they are 2nd rate 😉
Only joking of course, great set there. Love the Thomas Cook 320.

What a fantastic site that is. If I had the time I’d get more involved. My grandfather’s brother died just after the Burmese War, he was shot, would love to know more etc.

I’ll try again. I’m having finger trouble tonight.
http://www.cwgc.org/default.asp is the website and search engine of the Commonwealth War graves Commission who are responsible for the white headstones of serviceman you see all over the world. Going to the search page and clicking on the arrow next to the casualty box gives you the option of searching for Cemeteries. However, Yeadon does not appear to be there so is it possible the Cemetery goes by any other name?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Paul but I’m having trouble locating it on the CWGC website? I’d be interested to find which one it actually was as it might be a worthwhile exercise for me to try and find out what happened to the Airmen buried there.

Forgive my ignorance, but GWGC? This is an area outside my interests really so I’m not familiar with what that actually is!

Paul.
Just out of semi idle curiosity could you tell me the name of the cemetery or Churchyard from which these images were taken?
Thanks.

Of course. It’s Yeadon Cemetery. A wander round there shows it to be the final resting place of a good few wartime airmen. I can think of no more appropriate resting place! 🙂

Graveyard in the foreground of the Ryanair? Crop me lad, crop. Lol.
Why crop? That’s a wonderful spot and I have images on JP showing the graveyard as well. I don’t want to crop it out! 😉

Nice set, Paul. I still hate that ‘Friendly Low Fares’ slogan that Jet2 have put on the 757 – it’s like what someone doing a Flight Sim repaint would put on. Uber tacky IMO.
