[updated:LAST EDITED ON 15-12-01 AT 09:25 AM (GMT)]British World Airlines, the airline which specialised in providing back-up planes to other carriers such as Easyjet has gone bankrupt which has resulted in the loss of 320 jobs.British World which was based at Southend, says it has failed to find a solution to financial problems as a result of the events of September 11.
Fifty of the job losses are at Aberdeen, from where the airline operated flights to North Sea oil rigs and islands. All the aircraft completed their journeys yesterday and were returned to their bases.
More bad news to:
Brymon airways which is baed in Bristol, yesterday said it was stop flights between Plymouth-Jersey and CDG because they said the routes had never made a profit.Hopefuly British European may start operations to CDG from Jersey as they have always been interested in the route. Also in Guernsey we are to loose our ATP flights with British Regional to Manchester but lucky enougth Aurigny already operate the route.
