The Dawlish Air Show has been cancelled again.
Shame, I really liked that one.

Great Yarmouth is hosting its inaugural Airshow in June. It will be interesting to see how it goes…

Sad to hear. A bit of good news today: South Ayrshire Council have confirmed £200,000 funding for the Scottish International Airshow, because they recognise the economic importance of the show to the Ayr area.

The annual event at Damyns Hall won’t have an air show any more and that’s a direct consequence of the fees and insurance increases and changes to regulation that place an impossible burden on the organisers of small shows.
Same happened with the air display element of the Armed Forces’ Day in Lowestoft. We only wanted four small displays (Grace Spitfire, Yak 52, RV-8 and the Wildcats (2 x Pitts)) but the costs simply made it untenable and they were canned, despite the best efforts of many to find a way to make it do-able…

And many thanks to whichever moderator changed the title of the thread. I tried for ages but couldn’t work out how to do it.
Think I am correct in saying only moderators can change the content of titles. They are blessed with special powers…..!!!

Torbay isn’t a replacement for Dawlish, it’s a new show and I hope it becomes as good as Dawlish. .
Maybe not in fact , I agree , but in the eyes of the public here in S Devon…many view it as a direct replacement.

Replaced by Torbay on 3/4 June.

What a great shame. We can only hope that this isn’t the first of many for 2017 !
