Another Anson Question

Sparked off by the earlier Anson Question – I thought I’d ask this…

As a (8+) youngster in the 60’s I used to cycle 12 or so miles to Halfpenny Green to watch airplanes…

Although I don’t know what types of aeroplanes were flying then (Circuits & Bumps – so likely to be a school) – I seem to remember seeing not one, but two BLUE Avro Ansons on the airfield somewhere near where the refuel slots are now (courtesy of Google). I also seem to remember something to do with “Air Scouts” too.
I think I know they were Ansons because they would have been the first WW2 aircraft I’d have seen “in the flesh”. (thanks to the 60s plastic modelling era)

Since I left that area nearly 37 years ago:
Can anyone confirm that these Ansons were indeed there and this wasn’t a figment of my depleting memories?
What were they doing there?
Who did they belong to?
What happened to them?
