Another British Concorde Powered Up

Albeit limited at the moment, there are exciting plans to get the nose and visor operable.

Would never have guessed it would be this one!

Would it be possible to connect the cockpit lights, instruments up to a computer?
Would make an interesting, interactive display. Watch the Concorde prep for flight.

The Brooklands Concorde, Delta Golf has all its cockpit instruments illuminated. I watched the chap wiring up the flight engineers panel. He fitted small fan units (like on a PC CPU) to keep them cool. The flight simulator instruments move when the sim is in manual mode and like DG they are illuminated.

Work continues on G-AXDN, with the nose lowering / raising mechanism starting to come back to life.:)

That’s great news. Though I bet a short run. The trip to New York = One ton of fuel per passenger.

Maybe it will give those at Filton a kick up the bottom, it was 10 years ago yesterday that the last Concorde to fly landed in Bristol and she sits unloved and out of view(except at a distance) of the general public.

Believe this if you will….

Let’s hope the people in charge at Manchester see the good work being carried out at Duxford, and allow the team to finish the work they started on G-BOAC.
