Just looked at a French web site, and it reported that Rene Bouverat has sold his P-51D F-AZJJ to the US. That means that there is only one left, F-AZSB which is with Jean Salis at La Ferte Alais. I also see that Courtesy have his F8F listed as pending, so who knows, maybe this a/c will go back across the pond as well π

Γ§a c’est dommage. π
I liked the sheme applied on that Mustang and I’m sad I never saw it fly. I had always hoped to see it on the european airshow scene. But now, I think the chances to see it here in the near future are very smal. π
Greets,
J.V.

F-AZSB update
Just to keep you updated guys, Jean-Claude Beaudet sold F-AZSB Nooky Booky last year to a member of the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis Association. The fighter has been overhauled and partly restored by Jean Salis’ company, and Nooky Booky is flying from La FertΓ©-Alais since last summer. It is not owned by Jean Salis nor the Amicale Jean-Baptiste Salis (AJBS). But is is operated by AJBS. Just to straighten things up. π

F-AZJJ has been up for sale since late 2003, ditto for the F8F – and the crashed example = F-AZFI (went down 1998) was the one in French AF colors – a sad loss and within weeks of the loss of another former French P-51D, “Temptation”, F-AZJM, which crashed in the Swiss mountains shortly after being imported and registered HB-RCW.
F-AZSB is owned by Jean-Claude Beaudet and is the original yellow ship of late Bob Hoover, N2251D.

Pretty sure Salis doesn’t have a P51. He had one, sold it and it eventually crashed on take off.

I’m fairly certain the Bearcat is heading across the pond to an owner in Southern California.
