I picked up this hatch at Speyer a couple of months ago
I was told it was from a Norfolk FW190. Despite trawling the references – I cant see a circular hatch like this on one.
It has the original paint – which I assume is RLM75 and the vague remains of some stencilling in white.
On the reverse it has the vague remains of an inspectors stamp – but only numbers 1 and 8 visible.
On one of the locating angles there is a stamp that is either LLL or 111. (I had assumed it was ordnance code LLL – but cant find a match with known code).
There are felt retaining rings around the outside edge.
dia is ca. 17 cm.

Andy – I checked the colour first!
On the Ju87 – it was only on the port side- low and just in front of the cockpit – before the engine cowl starts.
i will check other Ju’s as well.
Typical – spend 10 Euros on a panel and it turns out it could just be yet another piece of Stuka..

True.
It is Schmierstoff (grease) that is stencilled on the outside.
Not sure if they had port and starboard – or even sure where it goes on the airframe.
It is also possible, I suppose, that it was a “standard” Junkers part and may appeared on other types, perhaps?
Oh…..and as for the paint finish. Are you sure about that being RLM 75? 😮

Andy – thanks It looks very similar to the one that you have shown – only difference being the handedness of the holding wire bracket.
I can read the same stencilling on the panel.
Bruce – thanks – I am glad that days peering at FW190 diagrams had not proved conclusively that I was loony.
