I see that yet another Harrier has appeared at Everett’s according to Eurodemobbed. This time Harrier GR.7 ZD462.
In this thread http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=90337&highlight=admirals+barge it was mentioned by a forum member that the Admirals Barge Sea Harrier hadn’t gone through normal disposal channels and it would not happen again. According to their contact anyway.
Did anyone see this one go through the DSA (I didnt) or know how yet again they get a Harrier the rest of us didnt even know was available?
Whats the point in having the DSA and signing up to it IF you dont get made aware of stuff like this as it seems bypass the DSA as its already earmarked a home for someone to make a handsome profit. To me it makes a mockery of the disposal system.
Additionally IF a Harrier really is worth the price charged by Everetts WHY isnt the MOD selling them for this money themselves to benefit the taxpayer?
I remember the old Flypast magazines (yep when it was a good read) and the auctions been advertised or reported upon where’s MOD aircraft were available. Oh for those days again (thats for the auctions as they used to be & Flypast been a good read).
