Tommy Broom
This was originally put on another thread so here it is again
Tommy Broom
I was honoured to have visited in Bristol last November a chap of 96 years of age. His name was Tommy Broom and he was the navigator half of the Flying Brooms ( not related ) The pilot half was the Late Sir Ivor Broom. Im sad to say that Tommy died last week. I have posted a link to his Telegraph Obituary.
Please read as he was a remarkable chap.

below is photo taken by my wife of him when signed a painting of his Mosquito bearing the “Crossed Witches Brooms ” and also his friend Tom Parry Evans who wrote his biography ( well worth reading ) Tommy is holding the pint glass. ( he drank real ale and smoked St Bruno )

Will try to track them both down.

IIRC Sir Ivor Broom wrote a book (or one was written) about their exploits. I forget its title now.:o
This, perhaps?
A biography, Squadron Leader Tommy Broom DFC: The Legendary Pathfinder Mosquito Navigator, by Tom Parry Evans, was published in 2007.

This is the first time I had read of this pair. What a marvellous story and another with the inevitably sad ending. I wonder thier story has ever been filmed.
