Another ME262 Flys!!!

HOT NEWS!!! The second ME262 Project fighter jet flew Monday, August 15, 2005 in Everett, WA. The aircraft known as Tango Tango, was flown without incident over Paine Field by test pilot Wolfgang Czaia to the delight of Bob Hammer and the ME262 Project team who have worked hard on the second of five flying examples of the historic jet. This historic flight comes just weeks after the first flying ME262 Project aircraft, known as White One, flew formation with the Collings Foundation B-24 over the Everett, WA area. Tango Tango will continue to fly the FAA flight test schedule until it is ready for shipment to the Messerschmitt Foundation facility near Munich, Germany. Much progress has been made on the third ME262 which is for sale. FMI visit http://www.warbirdrecovery.com, http://www.airassets.com, or contact our offices at 303-460-1156, Ext. 21.

Yeah, we could have seen the 262 up with Red7 in the near future but that aint gonna happen for ages now if at all. Not insured? FFS!
A 262 or 190 would make a lovely “surprise guest” @ Wanaka one year too ๐Ÿ™‚

Adolf’s TimeWarp SHOCK!!!

I’ll have to see if I can squeeze it in to my non-existing budget ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ,

But Gordon, I will try and chase it up here in Oz mate!!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank the so much, on the extra performance info, when you wrote of the bigger rated engine’s, Takeoff short field blast off’s, was the first thing that came to my mind!.

As I have been to your site, and other’s with stuff about the critical Mach number’s, I knew extra speed could not be used straight away! ๐Ÿ˜€ .

Will be so nice for the LUCKY LUCKY LUCKY B****** pilot ๐Ÿ˜€ , to have that extra Grunt and kick in the A*** at take off!!!…………YAAAAHHHHOOOOO!!!! :dev2:.

Joke’s aside, Are there any German WW2 pilot’s, still alive anywhere in the World to ๐Ÿ˜ฎ SEE THIS!!!

I think if old Howard.H. was still alive, and had his Marble’s of course  , He would bye one!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ .

I bet there’s NOT one super rich B****** down here in Oz, who will by one for us here! ๐Ÿ™ , (But those Kiwi’s have one that just might :p ).

I would go as far as swapping our Oz 262 ๐Ÿ˜ฎ , for a NEW and Improved flying One!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

Right on hey Mister FIRST AND THE LAST,

If you are up there somewhere mate  ,

Come on Down ๐Ÿ™‚ ,(or up :diablo: )

Take a seat and enjoy… please,…….in the Cockpit oh sure Adolf……..What was that mate,…What…… I’m so so sorry mate that wont be happening,

Yes I know she look’s the part..yes…yes..I know mate…….BUT ๐Ÿ˜€ …NO gun’s or bomb’s this TIME  ,…hold on to your Cross and goggle’s for a sec mate! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ , it’s August in the year 2005!!!!.

Doctor WHO, Where are YOU!!!

Gordon, I tried to buy your book using gift tokens from a major UK bookseller, but they don’t have a distributor in the UK. So I’ll go to Amazon instead. Look forward to reading it.

The engines are “gate limited” at 500 knots of airspeed on the Me262, but the extra power from the GE CJ-610 engines is really nice on shorter runways and better climb rates. I hope to post the new performance numbers as they come out. I will also be updating our www.warbirdrecovery.com website with news. BTW, has anyone read the new book yet? Any comments? It is getting great reviews over here and really helping with awareness of the Bf-109 rebuilds and also the new Spirit of Flight Center. Would love to hear any comments. Thanks! Gordon Page

Hey Gordon, noticed your avatar when you first posted – ordered your book yesterday coincidentally off Amazon – think it was about ยฃ8 – looks interesting and will report back when I’ve read it – dont hold your breath cos Pete Vachers book is first in line!

Cheers

That first pic of the ‘262 taking off – could easily be “taking off from somewhere in Germany in 1945”, with a bit of tweaking… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Would certainly like to see a collector buy one to display in the UK. We have three for sale. Also, TANGO TANGO is a convertible version, meaning it can fly as a single seat OR a two-seat variant. This aircraft is powered by more powerful engines than the first Me262, White One. I will post more information as it comes in!

Good idea, the updates on the project have been scarce from Paine Field in the past, I’m sure you as a reseller, will benefit from updating us regularly with pics and news.. it’s called marketing ๐Ÿ˜€ We’ll all spread the news to our contacts.

Well done the ME262 Project team.

Gordon, I understand that the engines on aircraft #1 are power limited to avoid exceeding Vne. Will the more powerful engines make any practical difference to the performance of #2?
