Flybe have announced another route to Galway in the west of Ireland, from 16th Dec 2006 they begin SOU to GWY. This is along with GWY to BHX starting next year and GWY to BHD starting next month.
I think if these routes do well, Flybe will begin to further expand at GWY. Think Aer Arann will be watching their progress with interest, as GWY has always been their stronghold. It will be interesting to see how well Flybe do as Euromanx set up a base thier a few years ago but pulled out due to low loads, however Flybe have deeper pockets and are more well known so they may be their for the longterm.
Atlantic airlines of the Faroe Islands will also be running a series of charters linking GWY with Copenhagen, Hamburg and Prague this winter, organised by a local travel agent, using a BAE 146-200.
All good news for GWY with Aer Arann also announcing GWY to LBA and GWY to ORK, along with their exisiting route network and all the other new services its good to see a small airport like Galway expanding all the time.

Whilst on the subject of flybe does any one know what aircraft will be operating the new 2x daily Doncaster to Belfast route starting on the 29th October? I presume it will probably be the Q400.
Thanks
It is scheduled to be a Q400 but expect to see the odd 146 (or even an E195) especially if the Q400 goes tech!
