Both the 144 and Concorde, aswell as the AN-22 and 747 at Speyer, can be inspected from the inside. It is jus.6t a steep climb. Most aircraft in these two musea can be inspected from inside. BW Roger

You’d think a maritime museum would have been better for this location (lol) 😀

The people living nearby must have right laugh everytime they bring in a new exhibit… Imagine popping out for a quiet walk on a Sunday morning for the papers to meet this coming up your lane ?

Like this….

If you look at the Sinsheim Museum website you’ll see that a lot of the aircraft exhibits are mounted in a “flight mode” style on long poles outside the main building.

On the roof , really , what a shame !!!!
By: Bhoy - 4th August 2003 at 14:26
that’s shocking… they should both be somewhere the punters can get a look around the cabin, not on the bloody roof. 🙁

So knowone will be able to actually board it for a look inside presumably ? Unless they bring a climbing rope and crampons. :p

It will be nose to nose to the 114 (which I like more than the Concorde to be honest). Bw Roger

Has anyone seen the Concorde on display at Sinsheim ? Will it end up on the roof like this Tuploev 144 ?

Yes, it is the “B” that now is in Germany. Made my only Concorde flight in this example. 2 hrs airborne time on a joyflight from AMS to CDG with in between a diversion over the sea to go MACH 2. It was my fastest flight ever. It was in april 1994, and the price was around 350 PSt. All seats were sold but there was one “no show”. The organisation gave me his seat for free in exchanche for some presscoverage of the event in a Dutch magazine 😀 😀

Well these two will still be flying for a while (in my house anyway), new models I got today from www.ba.com 😀
Just as a way of keeping the Concorde retirement debate going, I was wondering what people’s views on the retiral events were. Obviously BA are doing the UK tour and AF have sent their’s round airshows and museums but what would you like to see done to mark the permanent grounding of the plane ?
Personally I’d like to see a formation flypast of a number of Concorde’s painted up in all the liveries she’s been in. That would be all the BA schemes, The AF, the Singapore side and the BAC/Sud Aviation house colours. More pitstops on the UK tour would be good too I.E GLASGOW!!!!!

Yeah that pic was taken whilst it was being dismantled for the trip.

Very sad sight… wont be too long until we see a BA one in the same state… if not a lot worse, should the London Science museum get their way! 🙁
The concorde in the pic has now been put back together I think and is at the museum in Germany.

I think it’s a disgrace

I guess she is the one that they moved to a museum in Germany.
A shame ….

It looks like they’ve used a big lasoo type arrangement to hold the nose down.

I saw a fantastic photograph in the Thai newspaper, “The Nation” whilst I was away. It had a man on the river, fishing. In the background, a big ship sails past with an Air France Concorde on top of it – looked great. I did cut it out and bring it home, so I’ll try and find it and get it scanned in.
Shame to see a wasted Concorde there.
