Has everyone read about the hoax bomb scare on a Virgin flight this weekend.
The 747 was on route to Florida with 322 passengers when it diverted to Iceland.
One of the crew discovered a message on a toilet mirror saying ‘There is a bomb, America must die. Bin Laden is a hero, Kvaida.’
It landed at 5.26pm and all passengers were taken off for questioning while the plane was searched. Nothing was found.
After body searches passengers were taken to nearby hotels for the night where they could resume the flight in the morning.
If found the hoaxer faces prison in Reykjavic. and fines of up to £250.000.
The airline is likely to sue for the expense of diverting the flight and says ‘We will push for civil action and we will push for the severest penalty.’
Apparently the threat was announced to passengers. ‘Suddenly we were heading for Reykjavic. All the passengers were good. One or two got upset, but everyone was quite calm. It amazed me. And the crew were excellent.’
What a nightmare, I’m surpirsed though that they announced the bomb to passengers. If I was on the flight I wouldn’t want to know. I’d rather be told that we were diverting because of technicall things until we disembarked. What do you all think?

It could be the person beside te toliet so that he would see when people wern’t looking!!
I think CCTV would be good on all commerical a/c from now on and it would be attached to the black box so that the tape would stay safe and could be seen after crashes.

I agree, these people are really sick. I’m cabin crew with a major UK airline, I can only imagine how the crew and pax must have felt. Well done to Virgin for handling the situation so well.

Its unbelevable that somebody would do something like this.
Surely somebody saw the person go into the toilet to do this, especially those sitting near by. Lets hope they find the person responsable, he should get severely punished and be banned from flying for the rest of his life!

I heard about this yesterday,the ##### (sorry only name i could actually think to call the person)who did it must be sick,what that must of done to the passengers,those people must of thought it could be another terrorist attack.
Something similar happened on a Virgin 747 a couple of years ago,my uncle was onboard!It was said that there was a bomb onbord and they were diverted back to Orlando but nothing was found.
