I know this is the chassis warning horn switch which is fitted to the throttle quadrant of (all?) Spitfires.
The question is, what is it’s Air Ministry Reference No. and/or Supermarine Part No.?
Any help gratefully received…

Hi Alan
I cannot see your picture but, if it’s what I think it is, the reference will be 5c/2024.
The Supermarine type part number is 22336-803

Michael
Yes it is 5C/2024

Al –
In the Mk. IX Pilot’s Notes it says that the horn was only fitted to the early Mk.IX’s.
So I would suggest that the change occurred somewhere around the switch over between Mk.V and Mk.IX production.
Can’t help you on the ref’s though, I’m afraid.
