due to a mkix 2 stage – 2 speed supercharger with intercooler merlin being longer than a early single stage single speed merlin in a mk1

Have asked this before, but while at Flying Legends this year. The comentator said that the Nose of the Spitfire Mk9 was 9″ Longer than the early types eg Mk5?

Is this correct?

Or did the commentator at legends actually say “Zee nose of zee Spitfirer mk Neuf est 22.5 centimeters longer than zee early types eg Mk Cinq”
