At 1145pm perth time tonight a once mighty domestic airline with nearly 70 years of service under it’s belt will take to the skie’s for the last time.
Ansett has fallen at the last hurdle and the Australian skies will be worse off without her,Through mismanagement and bad business practices this airline has been run into the ground and is now bankrupt.
What now for the Australian skies,I will be at Sydney airport to greet a friend who is captaining the last ever flight from Perth.I would like to wish all the staff the best of luck and the best for a bleak future.

RE: ANSETT LAST FLIGHT
A sad day indeed. Its never nice to see anyone stop flying. I hate to say this but I am somewhat glad I didn’t get in with them 6 years ago, as I would now be out of work! I applied for a position as an FA, but that frigging selection process is tougher than the air force!
Met some VERY nice ladies that day, 15 of the 18 in our section of the stage 2 process were women, and most under 25! 🙂
Sad day indeed, I wish them the best in whatever the future holds. Jim Thorn’s take on this in the next issue of Australian Aviation should be interesting. He is a passionate editor at times.
Regards, Glenn.

I too wish them all the best, I will soon need some people for my project which has now moved to the next phase of opperation!
I’d like it known to all former Ansett personel that they will be given the highest priority for employment in my venture!
Fighter pilots make movies, Bomber pilots make history and Nerds make money from the sims!
