Can anyone provide any history on this machine prior to her departure to the U.S.A in the late 1960’s

According to GIFO G-AWSB was registered on 21/10/68 to John Richard Hawke who was better known as Jeff Hawke.
Many of the RAF Ansons which were sold off at that time landed up with “colourful” characters, some finding their way to Biafra.

Although it doesn’t relate to G-AWSB there is an old thread with some info about the Anson disposals here

Oh, the poor old girl is in a sorry state. I wouldn’t give much for her future other than with the scrapman.

Picture here of the final flypast over Bovingdon.

One went to Biafra, some of the others ended up at Strathallen.

Thanks for that! Can anyone provide anything on her RAF career?

No, but I tried! The Anson, c/n 266324 crashed 5/17/71 on a ferry flight from El Paso, TX, to Harlingen. One engine failed on take off and the 24 year old pilot landed it off airfield with the wheels up.
