noisy beast isn’t it – and it looks as if there’s a Hudson in the background.

Wonderful, well done to all those involved. There’s something about an Anson, it looks ‘right’.

this anson was airworthy in Australia till at least the mid 80’s possibly later(as vh-baf)
and even masqueraded as the Boeing 247 in the mini series about the 1934 London to Melbourne air race.

Annie Resurrected.
How lovely to see an old Annie alive again, and an early example of this once ubiquitous aircraft at that. Hats of to the restoration team. Can’t wait to see it take to the air…! I can remember seeing yellow Annies staggering out over Cardigan Bay out of Aberporth even into the 1960’s.

This must soon be the first Mk.1 Anson to fly since…the Skyfame (now Duxford) example in the 1970s?

Great to see one of these old workhorses back in the air soon! Having seen any a carcass over the years, it is good to see one living and breathing again!

Any chance of someone getting a certain Mr Jackson interested in a re-make of the film ‘Landfall’?

Don’t knock the good old Anson, a very reliable beast that would take you anywhere at a steady 120 knots.
Started my RAF career in them when they almost failed to teach me to be a navigator and finished it helping to lug trainee Air Electronics Orifices about. Most exciting moment came when a lightning strike carried away a trailing aerial and shattered the winch, I thought some silly so and so had fired a shotgun in the aircraft.

an Anson flew over my house several years ago. it sounded as though an old tractor was dragging a trailer with no wheels down the road, racket or wot!. the old Anson was hardly moving across the sky lol
