I missed the news today while helping a friend move house but I was told the replacement memorial has been put in place at the crash site of Anson N9857 on Ben More Assynt near (in relative terms) Inchnadamph in the NW Highlands. There was apparently a piece on BBC Radio 4 with one of the crew of the Chinook who lifted the granite block into place and there is a bit online about it now. Did the turret that was evident at the site go to a museum? regards Scott.
