My reply – to clear up a few questions that would be left floating

Dear everyone,
Last night I was talking with Erin when she told me about the Flood Question thread and said that she had reported it. I had no idea where it was going nor what its purpose was, but since my name was mentioned I decided that – due to the recent bad feeling by the thread starter towards me both here and on historic – I had best not reply nor moderate it. That was as far as it went until I arrived home this evening.
I did not discuss this with Erin more than saying that I had not got a clue about it; and it is fair to say that she reported it well before I’d even seen it – she cannot speak on the phone if she is on the net (and vice versa) and when she brought it to my attention was the first I knew of it.

My view about the question: no insults are good insults, but let the moderators do their job and you might know in the long run. At this moment I know no more than you have read here, but if anyone gets insulted by anyone else then please report it: don’t bottle it up.
My view about the way the question was put here: it should have either been addressed to the moderators, not a single moderator, or – and this is the best way, in my opinion – all the details passed over by PM and sorted out that way.
