Antonov AN12 cargo flight

Not sure if this is the correct area for this but it doesn’t seem to fit under any of the other forum headings. Moderators- feel free to move this as you see fit.

A few colleagues and myself recently accompanied our cargo from the UK to Joensuu (Finland) and back. Our trusty steed was an Antonov AN12 on charter from an air service based in the Ukraine. Here’s a few pics, there is more if anyone is interested.

good prioritising re the crates of Cider, got to keep the bones oiled 😀

Yep. Plus we needed something to block out the memory of the tread depth on the tyres…

Depends, for all we know the pilot’s eye line could be, and probably is, a good bit higher than the camera line. If not then yikes!

seems perfectly historic to me (i.e. old)

If by that you mean prop driven, slow and the toilet doesn’t work properly, you are spot on…!

I suppose it could almost go under the ‘commercial’ heading, but I’m happy for it to remain here

You’d risk a lynching by the ‘Save the DC6’ crowd if you moved it to Historic…… 😀
