Hi,
Managed to clamber out of bed and arrive in time to see the monster.
Some pix attached (it was nearly dark so they’re not brilliant – 1600 asa).
Not much noise (unlike the pix) for such a huge plane.
Cheers.

Most likely candidates:
UPS 763F N320UP
Lufthansa MD11F D-ALCS
Not guaranteed but they were overnighters.
Cheers.

Great shots for the conditions. I left home at 4 to witness the departure as well. Amazing how quiet it was for its size.
Still managed to get back to MAN in time to see the Garuda / MyTravel hybrid 330 depart as well.
Can anyone from EMA identify the UPS 763F and Lufthansa M11F that departed around 6?

EDIT: Looking at the AirFoyle website there is lots of good information on the 225 including some corporate PowerPoint files: http://www.airfoyle.co.uk/services/an225.asp?tab=aircraft
