Any Asian aircraft museums affected by tsunami?

I know it seems like a terribly callous thing to ask when there is so much human suffering across Asia right now, but I was wondering if there are any aviation museums or collections that are likely to have been affected or even destroyed in the tsunami-hit regions? Does anyone know?

It is such a terrible tragedy. Even tonight watching pictures on the news after all these days I still find it stunningly horrible.

Thanks for the report Jagan. I’m glad to hear that you personally are ok too.

All is well in india on that front. I am sure no aviaiton collection in Sri Lanka was affected either. Though I would like to know as to how the underwater wrecks on the Sri Lanka Coast line fared. There are atleast a couple of jap aircraft that were in shallow water from what i heard and the Hermes was also ‘divable’. would a Tsunami affect that?

There is one HT-2 which is said to be displayed on the Chennai coast. A very old report. If that was not moved from that location in the last year and a half, I am sure its knocked down by now. There is a Sea Hawk on a Pylon on the Visakhapatnam beach road – luckily the Tsunami waves were shielded by a huge hill called ‘Dolphins’ Nose. anyway I am not sure if the waves had that much power so far up the coast.
