Hello all,
Just wondered if there would be any interest in a bike thread on here to chat, share info, hints and tips, pics of bikes and trips etc!
I currently own a 2005 Honda CBR 600RR. As I have recently moved she is still garaged back home in Wales and Im gutted as we have had some great weather recently!
Mrs blueredblue has a 2004 Yamaha R6 and has just stopped riding as she is now 22 weeks pregnant!
Will get some pics up ASAP as we dont have internet at home yet.
Ride safe guys:dev2:

Ex-biker? No, I don’t like that term, so I’ll just say I haven’t got a bike at the moment, owned quite a few bikes, ranging from the sublime to the God awful.
Here’s a couple of past rides.
RD250LC & 350LC
Converted from a 250, these things are great, plenty fast & handled well, also note in one shot my Suzuki GT250X7, quick, but couldn’t match the Yammy on quality.

My beloved XT500, if there was ever a Bike I regretted selling it was this old thumper
GSX1100ET, another uber bike that I wish I still had, one of the quickest bikes of it time, surprised I survived to write about it as I rode it like a tw4t pretty much most of the time.
Haven’t owned a bike for about 10 years now, my last one was a Kwacker KLR650 road enduro bike, may be tempted to get another one, someday.

I’ve had a few R1200RT’s plus rented one in UK last year for a ride around the country. Our distances tend to be a little longer, these were earlier this year on a 9,000km trip to Western Australia and back 😉
Over the Great Australian Bight, just off the Nullarbor Plain
The road has a number of marked emergency landing strips for the RFDS:

Friend kept boasting about how his GS “has everything”…
Well, it was missing one accessory…. so we added it when he was distracted..

I don’t often write anything here these days but I’m one too.
I have an ’03 Harley Softail Fatboy and a Yamaha XVS650 (otherwise known as a Draaaaaaag Staaaaar).
I’ve been riding on and off since I seventeen and I’m now 47.
Last month (June) I completed 1950 miles in seven days riding the 650 from Dunstable to John O’Groats, then onto Lands End, then back to Dunstable.
The Jog2LE bit took three days and was about 900 miles.
Not bad for a 13 year old bike which a year ago was rescued from a dark shed smelling of cats p*ss.
It also raised 1500 Quid for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Here’s a couple of pictures of the rider and old girl at the start and finish (and yes, I am being held up by my mate John at lands End!!)

Try it sometime, it hurts a bit but is a great adventure.
Andy.

Just back from a week down at Maters house near Dover – was lovely riding down on Monday – just like summer
back earlier today not so nice with the wind getting up…
however you can indeed tell that it is summer with the amount of roadworks….:)
the A1 from Leeming to Dishforth is 50mph (groan) as is the M25 from the M11 to almost the Dartford crossing (Groan, Groan)
and as for County Durham – it’s all roadworks

I have a few, this is the oldest and the one most worthy of posting up. It’s my ’26 AJS G6 Big Port’. 350cc OHV, very light, handles superbly, goes very quickly indeed and has the most useless brakes I’ve ever come across 😮
It’s currently u/s with a rather slippy clutch following my trip to Shuttleworth on Saturday 🙁

At the other end of the scale I have a 1990 Guzzi 1000s, which has the earlier big valve motor. Took me years to find the right one. Seen here with the M.O.T. silencers on, normal wear is shorter, louder and significantly less restrictive

It is truly an addiction….
