Any drummers out there?

Just seeing if any other people on here are drummers, I’m sure there must be a few. I’ve had a drum kit for about a year now, but have never taken it seriously until the last few weeks. I’ve always been bought up around music, and so it didn’t take long before I picked up a sense of rhythm, and I also seemed to be quite good at co-ordination. I’ve sorted out a fairly simple beat, but one that isn’t to amatuerish (the Beatles used it for the base of many of their songs) and I seem to be able to make a good introduction and an okish ending to it. However, now that I have this beat I’m finding it really hard to break away from it, every time I try something new I find myself accidentally slipping back into it and I can’t seem to get nowhere.

If there are any of you out there, do you have any advice on how I can progress? Any other advice at all about drumming would also be appreciated. Thanks 😀
