I’ve been reading about the SuE’s in Iraqi AF service and have become facinated by the lack of pics around. Five served with them but one never made it back to France.
They were leased between the early and mid 80’s, while Bagdad awaited it’s F-1’s and used to no great effect during the Iran/Iraq war. the fact that one never went home could mean that it was shot down during this conflict, but is unlikely.
I know that the current number 66 was one of the four that returned and has been upgraded to SEM block 3 standard. and was one of the planes that has been active over both Afghanistan and Albaina in recent years.
Does any one have pics of any of these planes in their IQAF colours, or dare I ask, the whole squad?
