Hi all,
Does anyone have any information regarding the lightning cockpits that went to be used on the film ‘wing commander’,
Are they back at marine salvage? as I’m trying to find either a nose section or ideally a complete aircraft to restore,
Scott C have you got any ideas?
hows 706 getting on?
Cheers all

Hmmm,
I’am sure Keith Smith will be interested to know that he’s retired!
Marine Salvage may not exist but he is most certainly still trading, though he doesn’t have any(many?) Lightning parts.
Retired from Marine Salvage I meant. I know he’s still trading, I was rummaging through his many barns and sheds recently.

Hi Lightning Lad
As has been said there is nothing lightning related left at Marine Salvage, the remaining cockpit sections that didnt go back to Marine Salvage are suposed to have gone to a japan to be made into fight sims. What was left of the aircraft were sold oe scrapped If you really want a lightning you might have a long wait. Cockpit sections do come up for sale every now and again and a whole airframe once in a blue moon. 706 is coming along slowly but still making progress.
Regards

Nothing at Marine Salvage any more because the owner has retired and the company has shut up shop.
