Hi, I’m on the lookout for a Nord 1001 Pingouin or 1002 Pingouin 2 project, with or without engine/propeller. Does anyone know of any available, ideally in Europe?
Thanks

Thanks for your help gents. Does anyone have contact details for Robs Lamplough? I haven’t spoken to him for many a year. Thanks

Chippie51: Did you see / know of this one at Platinum? Seems to be a perfect project as they come.

Indeed -I recall it was bought at auction at 10K -its minus one wing. America is probably the hunting ground for these things.

Robs Lamplough used to have a former Argentinian example in dismantled condition, which for many years was at North Weald. I believe he moved it to his private strip. May be worth follow up to see if he may be interested in disposing of it if it is still with him?

Is it just me or does the canopy seem to be very flimsy? I’m sure it must have been at least adequate for the task but it doesn’t look it. (I was trained on the Provost, so make allowances for old age!)
I flew approximately 40 hours in G-ATBG for many displays and a couple of feature films while it was owned by Lindsey Walton. The canopy door framing might seem a bit fragile but they did the job with no problems.
:eagerness:

Good luck, chippie51. These days, Pingouins are almost as rare as hen’s teeth – and, I’m glad to say, much prized in France. But you might find it useful to your search to join the RSA and advertise at http://www.rsafrance.com/PA/.

The Spitfirespares Nord is a Noralpha – sadly a very different aeroplane, although an interesting design in its own right being – but not what I’m after.
Looking for a future flyer – but if anyone knows of anything please don’t get hung-up on condition – I’m happy to look at an incomplete total dog.

It’s not a Nord 1001 or 2

I think you need to specify -intended to fly or ground restoration only.
You could make more progress.
