Any other RAF books from Gulf War 1?

I have got, and read several times, Tornado Down by Flight Lts John Peters & John Nichol but was wondering did any other RAF pilots write about their time during GW1?

Afghanistan but give it a try, just for the difference.

Try a RN view on the event!

I am reading ‘ARMED ACTION’ by James Newton at the present. He was an armed Lynx pilot. John Nichol describes it as ” A thrilling account of the blood, sweat and fear of battle”. I am half way through at the moment and it certainly gives a different view of the war.

There was an official book called, I believe, “Thunder and Lightining – the RAF in the Gulf”. I seem to remember it being good but cannot find my copy currently.

Edit: here is a link:

Sqd Ldr Pablo Mason DFC

I can honestly say that Pablo’s War is a great read and a great insight into life in the RAF including all the ‘boys club’ problems Pablo Mason encountered!

I was thinking about the lack of books on this subject the other night. Has anybody produced a GW book similar to the excellent ‘Falklands-the air war’. Would love to read about the Jags and Buccs and how they fared in operations.
