Just found a few more recent photos-click on the photo at the bottom of the page. Kudos to the Bodo guys for sharing recovered parts from other Condors as patterns!

Thanks Oxcart and Sabrejet. The quality of the work is stunning! It looks like the team are trying their utmost to repair original material, however corroded, which makes it all the more amazing 🙂

There are some details and pictures of it on the Lufthansa Superstar restoration website (for some reason!)
I had a good look but couldn’t find any. Would you mind posting a link Oxcart? Thanks.

The message I had said:
It has been decided that the aircraft will be presented as a C-3 in a maintenance scene in neutral colour.

In this article March 3, 2014 they mention the way to display the Condor as:
“Die Focke-Wulf soll danach in einer Werftszene gezeigt werden.” –
roughly translated: “The Focke-Wulf should be displayed in a hangar like scenery”
…and the last report from Lufthansa, Sept 29, 2014

The plan is to restore/recreate it as a Lufthansa airliner, not as a Luftwaffe patrol aircraft. I think the wing display slide shows an interim plan to display the completed wing while they work on the rest of it. The aerial shot of the recovered items shows what they have – half a fuselage, no nose, both wings, four engines and the basic tail empennage.

I thought that it was being restored as a civil Lufthansa aircraft? Must say I would rather it was restored as a Luftwaffe Kondor as that’s what it is!

Spoke with someone from the project last week wrt the Fuel Control panel I recently acquired.
Work so far has lasted 15 years with another 5 years expected.
I was told that it would be presented as a Luftwaffe machine.

Are there any recent reports on the progress of this unique restoration?

The other day I saw a program on the History Channel…a UK production on Hitlers bodyguards. There were several shots of Hitler getting in and out of his Fw200.
Pity that plane…or any Fw200s didn’t survive intact.
I’m not the brakes were on fire when he got of it!!

That fuselage in the museum is from another machine. The fuselage part was in use in the DDR as a garage. Has nothing to do with the Condor from the flord. BW Roger

the plan at the end of the powerpoint presentation seems to show just a complete wing with part of a fuselage on display in the DTM. Is this the limit of the restoration or are they working towards a full restoration of the complete airframe, albeit at the same time concerting/rebuilding it as the civil airliner?

Hei,
Perhaps my german is not as good as I think, but what I understand is that it is restored as airliner and not as a Condor of the Luftwaffe.
regards,
Mathieu.
