Hi all!
I have recently started experimenting with Twitter, having been recommended it as a good way of keeping up with ideas in education.
Obviously, my first thought was that I could have more fun finding out what is going on in historic aviation…..
…but I haven’t found much yet!
So who’s tweeting? Who might be interesting to follow? Or does this forum represent the best way to keep up with what is going on!!!!!

We have a Twitter account for The Bluebird Project, though we don’t use it much and don’t expect it to come into it’s own until we’re actually beside some water with a finished boat and an expectant public who’ll need frequent updating etc!

I’m on twitter, @NickSouthend
Took a while to work out that you need to reply with @ and the their username as I was just hitting reply.

You think Twitter is a waste of time, but gladly spend your time somewhere else which essentially is doing the exact same thing, just in a different setting.
No point in arguing about it, I just feel it’s odd.

DCK – not really. There are many ways of using the internet and some suit some and some suit others but there is no necessity to have to have use all of them.

Thanks everybody – will have a look at these. Like many, I am still working out the value and benefit of Twitter…..but we shall see!
Mrs DR is away this weekend so in amongst all the gardening and DIY that I will be expected to have done, I should find time for a bit of Tweeting!
Cheers

Bit odd in my book to call Twitter a waste of time on an internet forum…

You find plenty of twits anywhere, in public, on tv, on forums, on twitter, on facebook, just a case of sorting the wheat from the chaff

You’ll find plenty of twits on twitter.
Waste of energy if you ask me.
Couldn’t agree more and my only venture into the XH558 twit was that erroneous slot times were posted so anyone relying on it would have missed the display!!

I think the rumour of the P-38 thing actually started here since people couldn’t find the listings on their site.
Some people were simply distressing their “oh noooo’s” on Twitter. Hardly serious.
And so it turned out wrong thank heavens. So what if there’s a few rumours around. It all adds to the mystique and the legendary status of what is Flying Legends. I wouldn’t be without any of the rumours, as crazy as they might be.
Anyone know the arrival time of that Me262 again? :diablo:
Elliot Marsh usually starts som fantastic rumours, tounge in cheek.
It’s all good fun.

All you had to do was look at what Dan Snow & other BBC people were putting on about that Spitfire dig to other day to know that most of what is on there is utter rubbish. They put something up about “the body”, I think it meant fuselage not a rotting bit of meat, as it was minus pilot on impact and someone else put something along the lines of he’ll be holding up the pilot in a minute. Best of luck, but I don’t think so. Again, something completely different was meant but as everyone tends to believe this ****e it can get around the globe twice before it gets squashed.

Duxford did some very good day by day tweeting last year that followed the BoB but not really encountered any other good aviation related stuff, but then it’s easy to miss when following some heavy users.

Vampire 507 has twitter, just search for it and you should find it

I just cant get on with Twitter & I did give it a good try.. However I have found lots of good Aviation related sites & joined them ” Liked” on Facebook . Also being an owner of Jeep & Dodge vehicles , apart from their respective Forums , I can message & glean info off Facebook as well.

I have several on my list connected to historic aviation. I never did group them together though, so it’s all a mess. Some of my Twitter pals sometimes put these “recommended adds” in their tweets as well.
Some interesting ones..forgivness asked to those I forgot. There are plenty.
