Would love to see how it is supposed to look.
I have just finished the Hurricane and made a real hash of it 😮
But still enjoyed making it…. surley thats what kits are for:):):)
Any one else think Airfix produce the worst decals ever, on the Hurricane the upper wing roundels are very fade with white specals and the fuselarge roundels are skewed to one side.
Oh and the two piece fin flash is a pne in the ar$e:)

The BBMF kit is unashamedly aimed at kids – you’d be better-off buying the kits and decals seperately. For example, you could get yourself the Hasegawa Lancaster which is beautiful, or failing that the much cheaper Revell kit which is almost as good. Sadly, the kits in the BBMF box are fairly old – a cynical marketing product I’m afraid!

I do have one, but it is still in my stash!
…Any one else think Airfix produce the worst decals ever…?
If you’d asked me this question a couple of years ago, I would have agreed with you. I’ve not actually got around to building the newer (i.e. Hornby) issues yet, but hopefully the old problems with Airfix’s decals have now been resolved.
That said, I have just arrived at the decaling stage of several models; all are Airfix offerings from a few years ago, and in every case there are problems with the decals. Poor registration, alignment, I could go on…

Two-piece fin flash?? That’s a new one on me!
I’ve heard of it being done on swastikas (the HobbyCraft Buchon kit’s Battle of Britain film markings were done this way), but not flashes!
I did have the BBMF kit somewhere, but only managed to build the Spit (and, like you’ve said, made a bit of a mess of it).
