Thanks for doing your best to stop these/this idiot. Let’s, as you say he gets fed up and gets off.

As for detering us from using the forum, NEVER, best thing since sliced bread, wouldn’t know what to get up to without it, as long as I am on here, it gets me out of housework. 😀

We’ve now blocked their IP address ranges so hopefully that will be the end of it.

We believe the reasoning behind all of this is simple. Normally these spammers can gain access to the forum by creating their own registration then spam away on the forum as they see fit. The anti-spam restrictions at registration are tougher than ever and as a result they cannot gain access. We think they are trying to gain access to your accounts, to then spam the forum. My suggestions is to not have simple passwords such as “password” or similar. Hopefully they’ll get bored soon and realise they won’t be able to gain access. We’ve now blocked their IP address ranges so hopefully that will be the end of it.

We hope that this doesn’t deter users from using the forum.

I am out of touch now, but havn’t the Fuzz, a dedicated Computer squad to deal with this sort of thing, ie, trying to get ones identity, to commit fraud etc?.

Got another today haven’t opened the e-mail but have contacted moggy .

I am getting the same e-mails about someone trying to login to my account about once a day now. Probably because those dots in my username put it right onto the first page of the memberlist.

To be on the safe side I just changed my password to about 25 letters length, including numbers, random letters and so forth. Hope I can remember it myself though … :stupid:

Please then drop one of us a PM and we’ll give you an e-mail address to forward a specimen e-mail to.

I’v had some try twice in the last two days.

To all whom have been involved with the attempted logins,

We are aware of spammers trying to access some peoples accounts. This is most likely due to the anti-spam measures used at registration point are now tougher than ever. We can’t stop them all although we are blocking IP address to the site as we find those who are attempting logins on genuine accounts. Please message myself or any of the Moderators with any IP addresses from emails you’ve received from the forum and we’ll make sure they added to the blacklist too.

On 14/9/13 someone tried to access my account on another forum – IP address was 188.143.232.144 which is St.Petersburg as well. There was another attempt from the same IP address to access another users account.

Guess someone is doing the rounds and trying to hack into forum accounts…

But Linc was drifting in spirit…..whisky probably!!:dev2::D

Many thanks to all the reply’s the e-mail from the forum just read that someone had tried to log into my account (Unsuccessfully) at 03.05 a.m. I new it wasn’t me so I deleted it but the I.P. address that 27Vet gave seems to have a similar look unless they all I.P. address’s start with 188.
The boss (Wife) has just informed that once an e-mail is deleted you can’t get it back so unless someone knows different it’s gone for good. Many thanks again all.:eagerness:
