I return and the image posting facility on the Forum is a shadow of its former self. 🙁
This new image posting isn’t working for me and I am interested to know if I am alone and if there are others in the same situation as myself.
Other than external source images from ‘Bucket shop’ etc, when somebody uploads what I believe to be a single image, I now see a shallow, rectangular rounded corner, full span boxed line with the words ‘Attached Thumbnails’ set into the top horizontal. Nothing is within the box and no amount of right click or left click within the box will generate an image.
When multiple images are posted, I see within the same box, single or multiple ‘hyphens’ close spaced together. Jiggling my cursor over a single hyphen I can erect a ‘finger pointer’, click, and then see the image.
I have all the boxes ticked in the User CP – Edit Options, thread display options etc.
I have disengaged pop ups on my Norton anti spam to no effect, as this had caused problems with JDK’s Pathe site findings.
Am I alone?
Does anybody have any ‘techie’ solutions?

I have trouble logging in using Netscape 7 but not in AOL’s browser. IE6 doesn’t like me clicking on most things since SP2. Firefox I have but the icon is over an inch away from Netscapes!
Today some pics are placeholders only – is this the problem referred to?

I’d turn off that ad blocker entirely – it’s not much cop.
Instead, ditch IE, install Firefox, and get the ‘Adblock’ extension to go with it. You can then make up your own mind about what things to block. Plus as a bonus, you won’t be vulnerable to 99% of the dodgy hacks out there that are aimed entirely at IE!
Damien,
Unticking ‘Banner/Skyscraper Ads’ in Zone alarm has fixed it. I now see the the ‘not so small’ thumbnails that I can enlarge with a ‘left click’.
I don’t seem to be able to be website selective.
Many thanks for your help.

Zone Alarm Firewall
Damien,
Getting closer.
It seems to be the ad-blocker in Zone Alarm that is the problem.
I can now get a thumbnail with the word ‘Ad’ and if I click that I get the image. I will also get all other ads I am sure so I need a selective fine tune.

Copy and paste it into an email to me and I’ll have a look.
To Handmade – done
Many thanks.

If you are using Firefox as your browser, click ‘View’ menu, then click ‘Page source’. Alternatively, press Ctrl+U.
If you are using Internet Explorer, click ‘View’ menu, then click ‘Source’.
Damien,
The latter.
I get acres and acres hieroglyphics. About two A4’s worth for the ‘Doh’ post.

Hmmm. Open the up the ‘Harvard cockpit’ thread and have a look at the page source (View|Page Source in Firefox, View|Source in IE). Search for ‘Doh!’ and then there should be a bit below like this:
Damien,
I fell at the first fence.
“Page source in Firefox” – What and where do I find this?

Does Norton do other ad-blocking? Disable it entirely, and have a look then.
Hello Damien,
I have now toggled both Norton ‘Popup blocking’ and ‘Ad blocking’ singly and in combination to no effect. 🙁

Works fine for me Mark. Perhaps it is a firewall problem on your PC. I had to disengage the best protection I ever found for my PC to see pictures on some forums.
Good to see you back by the way. Your Indian museum photos are smashing.
