My only slight concern at the time was that I was ushered into car park 1 with no sign of marshalling anywhere to be seen. People were left to their own devices to park. I was hoping there wouldn’t be chaos on the way out and thankfully this wasn’t the case.

By the way, I can thoroughly recommend the book, ‘Spit & Polish’. Love the title!

Regards,

Paul

Great show ‘spitfireart’, best tenner i’ve spent for ages… I didnt mind the visitors parked at the front as they were of the interesting variety – if they’d been at the back people would’ve moaned about having to ‘photoshop’ them out of the shot anyway!! the flying display was great, enjoyed a pint of Harveys (it was good to be back in Sussex!)… traffic was suprisingly easy at the times I arrived and left….only gripe was the vans parked along the fence at the front of the crowd line – presume disabled parking?? anyway not a real prob we just moved along till we found a viewing spot… one bit of feedback – I arrived around 9ish I think, and no one seemed to be taking money from the punters on the gate ! I’d bought an advance ticket but wasn’t checked…hopefully those without tickets were honest enough to cough-up!

look forward to next year – and yeah Coolham, why not! would have time for a pint in the Selsey Arms then! 😀

Neil.

MH 434 has changed schemes?!?! why? i loved her 222 scheme

I paid OFMC extra to have her back in Grp Capt Gabszewicz’s colours to help promot the book I’ve just published called Spit & Polish http://www.spitfireart.com/html/spit&polish.html ….I even printed the vinyl decals myself! Actually here’s a thought….both ML407 and MH 434 came under the Sector HQ at Chailey whilst both Spits were at Selsey on D-Day…that’s why I book em both ya see! Selsy and Coolham were controlled from Chailey under 18 Sector 2nd TAF, 133 and 135 Wings.

How about a big Mustang day at Coolham next year…fantastic runway!

I wanted to get the B25 into Chailey but she was booked elsewhere and runway too short.

I did! I ran it all! In fact I’m still taking it all apart tomorrow! Was a good show though I missed most of it both days….the joys of being an organiser…there’s always something happening that needs sorting! Next years will be slicker!

Brilliant Sunday… Superb flying by all!

Ray Hanna & 434? Words don’t describe… only that if God flew a Spit it would look something like that…
Worth the ticket price alone! 🙂

Precisely!!!!

Try telling that though to the 50 people or so who as cheap skates would not buy a ticket to come in whilst standing in the lane watching my show FOC….no wonder I lost my rag with them and called the Police to move them on! Police cost me £48 per hour per man as well for two days!

Here’s a quick teaser….
More maybe later.

You guys should have seen Ray turn up on Friday evening and what he did for BBC cameras…such a damn good low pass that only RH can pull off well!
Seeing two Spits, a Hurri and…a Mustang just dropping by at 4pm on an empty airfield just as my team were still setting up…we all lost a good couple of hours of set up time, but wow…what a buzz!!!

Then, on leaving, I had to wait an age (like I really cared 🙂 ) for some guy in a spam C172 to land. Y11F – you were late!

What do you mean late!!!! (well 15 mins late landing as I held off for the Hurricane) I only came down south for a Curry, only then to be made to go to an airshow today!!!!
I’m nicely cooked by the sun now 😮

No spam cans my a**e :p

And it was the same at Woodchurch last weekend

Not strictly true, the display and static display aircraft were between the crowd line and the runway at Woodchurch, we parked everything else on the far side of the runway (unless ofcourse you were in a field on the far side at Woodchurch.

Warm Air..

The notorious Rearwin specialist seems to be having trouble locating the correct location for the carb warm air feed in this shot.
So Robbo you’ve been there too have you??

This was a truly great day out.
One of the best airshows I’ve been to for ages.
Weather helped of course and all the people I met there–too numerous to mention.
You know who you all are!!!
Thanks to Andrew O for the lift it was nice not to be the driver for a change.
Mr Hanna is truly an artist.
Thanks
Andy

PS Dirty Rearwin photo’s anyone?? 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Another classic from 60 years back that we should all be grateful is still ‘preserved’ 😉

Moggy

It’s all down to the look in the eye, (so genuine and it’s still there after alll this time) you just can’t fake that.
Well spotted Moggy

I was also accosted by a pretty, petite blonde lady (that’s got you lot excited) 😀 😀 😀 🙂 😉 😀 Good to meet you! 😀 🙂 😎

Always been my airshow dream too 😉

Actually met a couple. 😎 Who was that nice lady looking for jump leads? I missed the ‘leads’ part at first and got totally the wrong end of the stick 😀
