It’s the light rays from the sun which burn you: not the temperature.
You are more likely to get burned at sea because the light reflects off of the sea so it’s like having the sun above and below you. :p
Agreed – it wasn’t very warm at all but the sun is stronger due to Massachusetts being at a more southerly latitude than the UK

In Newcastle, it is bloody awful! Last night there was thunder all the way from 3 in the morning to 11 this morning, it’s cloudy and bright, the air is damp and hot, we geordies can’t stand it!!
Ben, I’m a Geordie living in Oz, it gets up to 46c here in the summer, but after all these years i think i’ve acclimatized to it

I know the feeling so well!!!
It’s been nice and warm here at BRS!
The only time I got burnt to buggery was waiting for a MYT A320 from MAN, a TCX 752 from FRA and a Volare A320 from LGW to arrive in AUG 2003 at RMI (Rimini) in Italy.

I went whale watching off the New England coast and got burnt despite it being cold out at sea. Saw a few whales too.

try wearing a hat, and sunscreen if you dont want skin cancer.
But if you must and want a tan or melanoma, pour beer over yourself to speed the process.
Believe me I come from sunnier shores.

I got burnt! But I wasn’t spotting, I was gliding all day. Which also means a lot of standing around on an open runway.
Today up the tower it reached 30C for around an hour, remained at 29C for the rest of the time.
