The model is Byron, and they are not 100% accurate in outline. They fly well, but are not true to scale. There is no reason that just because it is a model, it doesn’t have to be 100% spot on. An accurate scale model, scale aerofoils, areas, power to weight ratio, etc, will fly just like the real plane, right down to handling quirks of the fullsize.
See the following pictures, which are models, which are fullsize? I have many model videos that have fooled many aviation fans. Who saw Spielberg’s “Band Of Brothers” series?? It may be a Byron kitset rather than one of the much larger, specially built airshow Mustangs. That is the worst sheme I’ve ever seen on a Mustang by the way! I agree – repaint it. Nice kit though.
