Anyone been to these airports

I am flying to two european airports in the next few weeks.

Milan Orio al Serio and Toulouse.

What are they like, such as air bridges, size, facilities.

Ive been to many airports in Greece and they are really poor but airports in Spain are normally really very good.

Sorry to say it, but you shot yourself in the foot a bit there!

He was asking for feedback from people who used the airports who, like you say, know a little bit of the back groud (rather than angry FR passengers who’ve been moved around like cattle and therefore may have a blinkered view of what the AIRPORT is like).

Thereby making the (slightly arrogant) LMGIFY reference both demeaning and unnecessary!

Hence my mildly sarcastic reply! 🙂

Simple answer, yes…They are not going to make you walk about a mile in the rain…

Question for you Tommy, you ever heard of Google?

Meh, one thing to bear in mind though Barry is that these people that post on sites such as the one i linked to are like untrained monkeys. They no very little about aviation and probably think that Ryanair own the airport. Because the public perception of the airline is bad, immediately the idea of the airport is too..

Like, say you asked someone in the street about Ryanair destinations for a survey. You would find a few people who bitch and moan about them being “in the middle of nowhere”, but they are clearly somewhere, they are just named differently because the public is dumb and will believe anything MOL sells them.

We need more experts like you. That’s what we need. 😉

It amazes me how everyone wants to slag off anything which isn’t a premium airline or a Capital city airport.Josh,I looked at the one link you provided out of curiosity.Someone criticises the lack of shops at BGY.Might be true airside but there’s more eateries and shops landside than most regional UK airports.
Another says the car hire is off site……simply not true…it’s at the end of the long stay car park and you can walk thro’ car park in 5 mins if you don’t want to wait for the rather irregular shuttle bus.
Yet another criticises the motorway traffic near the airport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No-one mentions it’s as near to Milan as Malpensa with cheaper bus links or that Linate IS probably the worst major city airport in Europe,in a state of near dereliction and only was saved from closure because airlines and passengers objected to how far out MXP is!

Bergamo is a small, grotty airport just outside of Milan. Not much more I can say!

Toulouse….a bit similar to BHX in size……..airbridges and busy due to quite a lot of internal French flights.Marvellous viewing at both ends of Rwy and Airbus plant is across the airfield.Air Austral 777 passes thro’ a couple of times a week.

Orio Al Serio (name of the local area which they insist on using) is actually Bergamo airport.Very like EMA in every respect………..no airbridges and similar flight numbers.Major FR base means half a dozen on ramp at times.Highlights are Carpatair Saab 2000 from Timisoara,Blue Air 733s from Bucharest,Belle Air (various a/c) from Tirana and new local outfit TrawelAir using OM-HLC (ex Seagle Air).Really good from about 11.00 to 15.30.
No 1 bus to Bergamo costs 1.50 euros, regular 9.00 euro buses into Milan…tickets from booths in arrivals hall.
Views good from multi-storey car parks but don’t make yourself too conspicuous!
Also DHL mini-hub so some cargo (SwiftAir 733,ACT A300) and is home to Miniliner with F27 and F50 freighters….hangar across airfield.
Dire area after passport control if you’re on a budget flight but great facilities landside for a small airport.

Enjoy

gone through TLS, but not recently,

What can I say bog standard regionaal airport, but the main thing is across the other side of the runway is airbus widebody factory, and it makes for intersting viewing.

Facilities I cant comment on as it was such a long time ago I went through this airport, but like I said you will see lots of different airliners on the other side of the runway
