anyone ever watch tv in Japan

I had occation to visit Japan once, and I was absolutely blown away at how good there tv programs are, mainly the cartoons. The cartoon stuff we see outside of Japan are total rejects that wouldnt even qualify to be seen on Japaneese tv. The also have alot of history shows and some wierd sports like mini motorboat racing and go which you can see at all times of the day. Any others here have seen and like Japaneese tv?

I watched it when I was there. Great help to learn the language ( except the news and ads, they talk too fast ) Once in a while they have a few good shows. Funny, you will occasionally see a famous actor from U.S. Europe, Canada or Austrailia doing an advert. Very funny.

Yeah i have watched TV in Tokyo often. Its pretty funny cos they are mad wrestling (wwf) fans and there was a wwf tour last year.

The Sumo was also a treat to watch, didnt watch any of the cartoons but i do understand Japanese which helps.
